Attendance and Illness
Activities in the Nursery are carefully planned and often continue over a period of days or even weeks. For this reason regular attendance at school is important for your child.
If however, your child is obviously unwell, home is the best place, especially if they are taking medicine, as we are unable to accept responsibility for giving medication to children.
If your child is not well, and is staying at home, please telephone and let us know by 9.30am.
Please let us know if your child has got an infectious illness or has to be admitted to hospital.
We need an emergency phone number and address in case your child is taken ill or has an accident during school hours.
If your child has asthma and needs an inhaler at school, we ask you to fill in a form giving the details of the medication and dose. Staff will oversee your child using the inhaler, but your child must be able to do it himself/herself.
Children often catch colds when they first come to school, unless your child is really unwell it is fine for him/her to come in to school.
If your child has had a tummy bug we recommend that they stay at home for 48 hours after the last bout of sickness or diarrhoea.
