Clothing
.It would help us and your child if you choose clothes that are easy to wash and easy for your child to manage, particularly when going to the toilet. Dungarees, belts with buckles, buttons and zips are all very tricky if you are in a hurry and often lead to accidents! Track suit trousers with elastic waists are much easier.
If your child is in one of our 2 year old rooms and is toilet training please do not put them in pull ups.
Clothes should also allow children to play safely. Flip flop, sandals, scarves and jewellery can be dangerous when children are running or climbing. Trainers are ideal for playing.
Please remember that some of our activities are messy and aprons do not always keep paint off clothes. It is very upsetting for a child who has worked hard at the activity to find himself in trouble because of marks on clothing.
Please keep special clothing for home wear or parties.
Many parents find it helpful to leave a spare set of clothes (shirt, sweater, trousers/skirt, pants and socks) on their child’s peg each day. This ensures that, if they need to be changed, they can still wear their own clothes.
If your child does need to change into nursery clothes, please wash them carefully at home before returning them to Nursery the next day.
Accidents do happen and we are always grateful for any spare clothes that your child has outgrown – especially, tops, skirts and trousers.
If you have spare clothes your child has outgrown we are grateful for donations
